Yogurt/Granola

My favorite snack lately is 2-3 spoonfuls of Greek yogurt with granola.

Any Greek yogurt, though I've been enjoying plain Voskos brand (I found 8 oz containers for $0.99 and bought multiples). I also bought some Chobani blueberry which is not quite as good.

The granola is any kind of freshly made mix, preferably with some interesting dried fruits in it. I've been buying from small, independently owned companies.

I mix small amounts of each into a small coffee cup and have it in the evening. It's perfect.

Tonight I will try this pricey granola I splurged on yesterday at Bottega Louie. $9.50/lb.

I had Greek Yogurt when I went to visit The Sister last summer and now I'm addicted. It's really the only kind I buy anymore. I like Fage the best - not a big fan of Chobani. But I also ONLY buy the plain - maybe flavored Chobani is better. I buy the plain so I can keep my options open and add my own fruit or jam or vanilla or splenda or honey or granola or ........... "enter yummy ingredient here." CostCo has the big Fage containers for pretty cheap and I always keep one at work for breakfast snacking. Funny thing here - I had some just minutes before reading your blog!

I would stop short of recommending Chobani. It's fine but the ingredient list looked unnecessarily long. Anyway, I tend to get plain variety so Voskos or Fage is really where it's at. If 0% is available, I lean toward that since it's so thick I don't miss the fat content.

Glad to hear you guys are on the same page as far as snacking.

I've been getting Trader Joes greek yogurt and TJ granola. Occasionally, I'll get their regular yogurt which is runnier than the greek stuff. I sometimes add fresh blueberries or dried cranberries to the mix. I'll have to try the brands that you recommend!
