Can anyone confirm that The Barn is in fact closed? If so, what year did it shut down?

Thank You Veterans.

Yep, had the three-day weekend thanks to Veteran's Day. Determined not to waste most of it to videogames and television and computer nerdity, I tried to make it as eventful as possible. Mission accomplished.

Among other things, yet another dim sum meal, TWO DIFFERENT DONUT SHOPS, shopping, drinking, eating, minor gambling and a whole lot of driving around. Well, obviously I wasn't doing any of the driving myself, but for sure I did a lot of navigating and sitting in passenger seats. This included a late night of riding around in the far corners of the Inland Empire. Yep. It was a lot of fun.

Rather than doing another weekend blowout list, I think I will do a bunch of posts over the next few days that highlight the most interesting bits. I'm working on editing photos right now...

Flashback Friday 4.

I was going to write a long explanation/excuse for this and the previous Flashback Fridays, but perhaps the less said the better.

Here is a short list of what I deleted:

• A discussion and my answer to one of the profound questions of the 1990s, "Are you a houser or a raver?" This post does NOT reflect my answer. As well as some talk of "shadowdance."
• Thump Records (Based just outside the 909 in Walnut, CA)
  
• A brief reference to DJ Lynnwood.
• The continued relevance of Art Laboe.
• Two anecdotes from my experiences at "The Metro" (Club Metro, Rubidoux). One including a man in a cape; the second, the night I met a security guard.
• A call for IE Readers' "Horror Stories From the Metro."

Oh well.
