Another thrifting day that left me emtpy handed.

I don't understand this. At all. Someone owned this?
Here's an item I actually need, but after some consideration, I decided there isn't enough disinfectant in the world that would make it okay for me to hold this PS2 controller. I believe it's worth paying 5x more for a brand new one in package than this. Suspect.
This was about the saddest thing I'd seen in awhile. A photo of a beloved (I hope) cat. Someone didn't even take the time to remove the photo before discarding the frame. Why?
This bums me out too. People don't use real dictionaries anymore. I'm guilty of it too. I usually opt to do a quick search online because it's handy. I don't think I could get rid of a dictionary though. Unless it was really outdated and I already have a replacement.

I actually have this Webster's Ninth New Collegiate. It is outdated. My mom bought it for me when I was a kid and I probably won't get rid of it because I'll probably never buy a new dictionary to replace it. Just, realistically speaking.
It reminded me of that scene in the Venture Bros. (episode, "Orb") when the Alchemist asks for a dictionary, Pete White suggests the internet is better, to which Al replies, "I don't want to play World of Warcraft!"
Here's a pop-up book about wine.
It was alright. Not particularly well made, but sort of cute.
Childcraft. I wanted this incomplete set, but they were selling them singly.
Also, where the heck am I going to store them? And how often would I actually have time to sit down and enjoy reading them? Pass.

Had to get a pic of some of the covers though.
I wish I had the patience to photograph them all.
I wish I had photographed more of the cookbook covers from the set I mentioned in this post.

Halloween poems.
I'm certain that younger generations lack some cultural richness by not reading poems. Not looking at illustrations done without computers. Not singing. Not dancing. I think that's what really pushed my desire to buy the set. To preserve something of American culture that isn't pop culture. I hope someone else gives it a good home and shares it with today's youngsters.
