Mail order film processing...

110

The time has come. I'd mentioned in my last post, my interest in having some film developed. A thing I'd mentioned some time before with similar support on that post from textdrivebys (who is now going by the handle "raisedbyculture." Nothing ever materialized on my end due to... who knows what. I used to get film processed all the time. Weekly? Maybe it was easier when you could just drop it off anywhere and pick it up in an hour. Fewer places are doing wet process in-house. Most send it out and not knowing which labs are getting the work makes me a little nervous. In the end, I guess picking the lab myself is best. Dwayne's is the only one who still does 110. Okay Dwayne, that's 3 namechecks on this blog now. Hook it up?

I went through the house and did a quick roundup of undeveloped film. I'm serious this time. I have a shipment going out tomorrow, of four rolls of 110 to be developed and printed. On hold are two rolls of TMAX 400. I'm going to close out the roll of who-knows-what that was mostly exposed at the Huntington on Saturday. I hope it's color! But even if it turns out to be more TMAX, hopefully there are some good tones. I'll ship that out with the two on hold.

I still have some anxiety. Why? The two rolls of Sakuracolor pictured above are from the 1980s. I seriously have no idea what's on there. It could be from my awkward years (some might say I'm still currently experiencing my awkward years) or have some other memories I do not wish to relive. The other two are much more recent and are from a trip to San Francisco (it's even mentioned on that post). The worst I could imagine is that the flash didn't always fire and half the photos will be too dark. Four rolls for under $35—hope the turnaround is quick. Oh sure, now I'm feeling the urgency.

They processed my Holga pics and did a great job.
