Kit Kat Chunky

I've reviewed a lot of Kit Kat on The Empirical. Mostly Japanese. And I gotta say, good—or sometimes great—they may be, but I'm sure I'll always think of American Kit Kat as my favorite variety.

Maybe it's that I've lived a life where I've always known this candy. I couldn't eat it without at least thinking of the jingle from the advertisement.

Kit Kat, originally produced by Rowntree's, a company based in England, is now handled by the global giant, Nestle and in the States by Hershey.

I'm not even sure what convinced me to give this product a chance.

Whose bright idea was this? Take the very thing that gives Kit Kat its charm and strip it away. No breaking off delicate pieces of wafer dipped in chocolate. This is one massive, hearty wafer coated in too much too-sweet chocolate. Wafer doesn't even describe it. To say wafer is to imply lightness, a crispiness. This thing had neither. It was an inelegant block.

Not recommended. I'm going to have to pass on on these "single finger" Kit Kats from now on with the exception of the Earl Grey flavor produced for Japanese markets. That one intrigues me.
