Going Shopping 2

I remember as a kid, one of the first things I learned how to make in the kitchen were Rice Krispies Treats. That's because it's the easiest thing in the world to assemble. Doesn't need an open flame, nor oven. Measurements don't even need to be precise; the end product will still be edible. I guess that's why I am always so disgusted when I see a piece on sale at Disneyland or the market or what have you for $5+. This didn't sit too well either...

"treats sheet"

Oh really? A "Treat Sheet?" Because those single serving packets weren't enough for you and your piggish friends on game day? Come on! Now we have to find a knife so we can cut this thing up. Or better yet, just let your friends gnaw off a piece to their liking. Or hey, this is America, everyone gets their own sheet!

You don't want to bake a pie or a cake? I get that. You don't want to microwave some marshmallows? You got problems, you lazy fucker.

Oh finally! A Helper to call my very own.
"Asian Helper"
Actually, I have to share this one with Koreans, Taiwanese, Thais, Sikhs... But this is progress! This is beyond my wildest dreams during the 1980s when the Empirical household was gobbling Helper up on a weekly basis. Finally, Betty Crocker recognizes that we Asian Americans want to eat their disgusting processed foods just like the rest of the country!
P.S. Yes, that is an abandoned Lunchables in the photo. Someone was too lazy to walk to the end of the aisle to put it back in the fridge.

i don't know what disneyland puts in their simple treats but it tastes so much better than my cookies, brownies or rice krispies lol i only know this because when my brother used to work there he would take some home for me - i would never spend $5 on 'em but let me tell you, on those cold winter nights at disneyland, nothing is more comforting and yummy than a hot chocolate and cookie lol i've seen some gross food lately at walmart. did you happen to see my cotton candy muffin picture? EW.

I agree! If that line at Blue Ribbon isn't too long (sometimes even if it is) I will totally buy 2 chocolate chip cookies. I buy other stuff too if I felt I waited too long in that line and want to make it feel like it was "worth it." And I pay their crazy prices too. Even with my Annual Pass discount, it's not unusual to see me walk away having paid $15 all said and done. Those rice krispy treats tho, GROSS. I've had a bite of one once and I must say, homemade still rules all.
This photo still gets hits pretty regularly: http://www.flickr.com/photos/inlandempirical/4062014783/

I'll have to check your photo. Sounds awful!
