Vietnamese with Chacha.
On the left, he eats the table. On the right, he enjoys a bean sprout.
Get this kid some food!

Afternoon tea with ai pohaku.
Teas, sandwiches, scones, girl talk... This was awesome. I like a pot of strong assam and some little sandwiches.
I'd really like to do this kind of thing more often!
I went to tea with Meg in NYC and it's tough to beat a real British afternoon tea like that, but so much fun to look for something here on the west coast. The Ritz-Carlton in Pasadena had a great afternoon tea, but it's no longer the same establishment. The hotel changed hands and the level of quality was affected. I dream of finding a place with great food like theirs, but it's as much about your dining companions. People, hit me up if you're interested in this stuff. If you know where we can get fresh clotted cream and scones, I need to know.

Ramen with the coworkers.
Yes, I see these people more than anybody else in the world, so it's a little bit of a relief to at least change the context. Let's go across the street and eat lunch together. That'll be a change of scenery. Kind of.

This cute little girl was at the next table enjoying a small bowl of ramen. We all loved her haircut.

Hawaiian-style with Eric
He had the laulau. I had a chicken teri bowl. Good teriyaki sauce. That's what it's about.
Look at all that food on his plate! He ate most of that like a champ.
We talked about art mostly and he bought my lunch. What a gentleman. Drops the f-bomb a lot though. Aw. (So do I.)

Pizza with Citizenrobot
She just got back from Italy so I was surprised she was willing to get a Los Angeles-style pizza with me.
Left side: Los Angeles face
Right side: I told her to "Make a Rome face."

These pizzas were great. With teriyaki it's about the sauce. Pizza? The crust. This is crust the way I like it. A little crackly and bubbly at the same time. I prefer this to NYC thin crusts. Though you know I love any kind of pizza.
Citizen told me about her trip and brought back gifts. I'll show you what I got later. They're pretty cool. She bought us some after-lunch coffees which is nicer than a dessert, I think.
I want to do this again soon.
As always, more photos on my Flickr. Seriously, if you're not checking my Flickr you're only getting half the story. Bookmark it! Here's the link.

wish you were here, x
God I'm adorable. Can't wait for Framer's Mrakret this week and taking the Gold Line again. I too kind of love lunch more than dinner sometimes. But breakfast is good all day long.
