Friday the 13th.

Today was unbelievably awful. I was hoping the universe would cut me some slack today but having the birthday weekend kick off on Friday the 13th? No such luck.

Normally, I'm not into this superstition. It was a bad omen though when I witnessed a truck lose control on the road this morning. A front tire blew out, sparks everywhere. I was at my morning bus stop. It's the 1st thing I saw all day. Last thing, at my bus stop returning home tonight some asshole almost hit me with his car.

So on the topic, no one had input on the film watching project (probably because I'm the only one doing them) but I've decided on the Friday the 13th franchise. See sidebar to the right. I guess Jason Voorhees is a suitable followup to Michael Myers. Maybe not. I'm biased. We're already a half-month in so this will most likely trickle into December. Plus, scanning the titles, they sound pretty awful. Was there really one called Jason Takes Manhattan? It's so bad, I don't quite believe it.

Birthday plans: Most people I know with Annual Passes are meeting up with me at Disneyland on Sunday. I'm there all day. I'm actually attempting to go by bus so...that might be an upcoming story to tell here on Empirical. If you spot me at the Park and can tell me how much the blender I bought earlier this year cost, I'll send you gifts in the mail. I'm dead serious. Of course, I'm also forgetful. So remind me on the spot why you are saying the words "SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS" to me. Especially if we've never met before.
