Flashback 28.

Ah, what's this? Another Alphaville video? Afraid so.

Alphaville is truly the two-hit-wonder. We dedicated Flashback 23 to the better known "Forever Young." Which...Well I'd argue the song never really fell out of favor if you're listening to mainstream radio for 30-40-somethings, but certainly it enjoyed a little boost from its appearance on the hit FX show "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." For those curious, the episode was "Underage Drinking."

Since then, we here at Inland Empirical have become a little more familiar with their other hit "Big in Japan."

I do not have any Alphaville albums, but I've become a little more aware of the tune when I wake up to it by clock radio. Thank you, Jack FM. Other than that, when I need a little hit of 1980s, German synthesizers--and my small Krautrock collection ain't cutting it--there's always Youtube. Well, friends, that's when I realized the genius of frontman Marian Gold. You really do need the visual to grasp the full power of Alphaville.

Are the other songs this good? I may have to buy it.
