Camera Shopping.

Yesterday, I stole the digital camera issue (July 2009) of Consumer Report from my doctor's office. Kind of helpful but the list is for people who have never bought a camera or at least never heard of Flickr. Very casual users that will only take their cameras out on holidays.

Later, in the day, I was trying to help a cousin find his first suit at the West Covina Mall. Hadn't been in there for a long time. Surprised that they turned one anchor store into a Best Buy. Checked it out.

They didn't have some DVDs I'm looking for so I was browsing the digital camera section. I usually shop online for such things, but I like to get a feel for it in person. [Usually at Circuit City but that is no longer around.] BB had 3 different models of Canon's latest PowerShot release.
Can't afford a DSLR right now so I only looked at point and shoot. They look okay.

I was looking at the PowerShot 1200. A sales guy pounced on me, "Can I help you with something?" Do you have the 1100? He didn't know. I know more about Canons than he does. I hate Best Buy. He goes to check. "It was replaced by the 1200." Duh. He's no help at all. I'm leaving without looking at CDs. My cousin's waiting for me anyway.

My cousin has no interest in consumer electronics or entertainment. We have nothing in common. Just blood. He's never even heard of the Kindle.

I'm getting the 960 or the 1200. Really would like to see an 1100. Who has one?
