Few More Words on Long Beach...

Apparently there are so many things to do in Long Beach that a lot of people I've spoken to have never even seen the beach proper.



After Queen Mary, we didn't have the time or the money to see the Aquarium. I used one of my lifelines and phoned a friend who knew the area slightly better than I was likely to be sitting in front of a computer. He made some suggestions and we were off toward Naples to do some exploring.

We didn't make it to Naples and it's just as well. We instead stopped in the Belmont Shore neighborhood to do some more walking. A few blocks off was the beach--I can say I've seen it. It is indeed long and much cleaner than I ever expect from a L.A County Beach. The sand is fine and great for a run or you can run on the bike/pedestrian path. It wasn't too hot that day and a Thursday so not too many people either.

Sidebar: It was really surprising to see a lot of street names in the area were Inland Empire city names. I cannot find a reason for this. If anyone knows or has any theories, love to hear about it via comments or email.
