Flix Recommends

I put about 130 titles in my Netflix queue so that I don't have to log in very often. I did try the rating system though to see how much it would affect what they recommend to me.

Now my main page shows

Classic Thrillers from the 1950s
Indie Dramas from the 1980s
TV Sketch Comedies
Dark Humor & Black Comedies
Indie Comedies

Not that I ever add anything from the welcome page, but I guess it's better now that they know which movies I've seen already I'm less likely to get bombarded by those. I'm still enjoying the service quite a bit. Sometimes I watch a movie on my commute.

This is funny: A friend recommended a title and when asked, "Is it safe for bus viewing?" he assured me there was "no nudity or anything" just violence. Well, that's alright with me then. I watched part of it on the way home until indeed there was a NSFB (Am I the first person to use this? I may have coined a new acronym.) bit about 15 minutes in. There was a robbery at a motel and of course every room that got robbed had people in graphic sexual scenarios. I couldn't take a chance and had to stop the movie. The older Filipino gentleman sitting next to me was probably disappointed; I could tell he was watching over my shoulder the entire time.
