I've been spending this evening looking for photos of a dear friend who was lost earlier today. I learned of her passing just a little while ago and it's sinking in slowly. Maybe that's better. I feel like I need the time to remember as much as I can--the last time I saw her, what she said (she might have been talking about cats or her dog...or accordions!), every detail. It's all those small things that fade from the memory the fastest.

She was a smart lady, really funny, an adventurous traveler and a great host--she always welcomed the Empirical into her family and home. We'll miss you. Thoughts go out to senorcrane and family.
