Mozza.

Made it to Pizzeria Mozza as planned. Took some photos. Ate a bit of everything and racked up a huge lunch bill with Citizenrobot.

I've been thinking about it ever since and even discussing a few things with the friend in NYC that I went to OTTO with. I cannot decide which lunch I liked better.

To recap, at OTTO I had:
  • Italian bread
  • breadsticks
  • one large bottle sparkling water
  • Warm House Cured Olives
  • Prosciutto Arugula Pizza (Tomato, Cacio, Mozzarella, Crudo, Arugula)
  • Two glasses wine (Rosato Bastianich and a red)
  • Trio of sorbetti (Creme Fraiche, Tangerine, Pineapple Prosecco)
Now, Mozza:
  • breadsticks
  • tap water
  • A white, A red (Ribolla & Aglianico)
  • Fried Squash Blossoms with Ricotta
  • Nancy's Chopped Salad
  • Prosciutto di Parma Pizza (with Rucola [Arugula], Tomato & Mozzarella)
  • Citizenrobot had the Coach Farm Goat Cheese Pizza (with leeks, scallions & bacon)
  • Citizenrobot had Strawberry gelato pie, spiced almonds & saba
  • Trio of sorbetti (Frutti di Bosco, Melon, Greek yoghurt gelato)
There were obvious similarities and obvious strengths. I cannot decide.

EDIT: Things I'm totally sure of
  • OTTO and Mozza salads were the best I've had in my life.
  • I cannot go back to eating the way I used to. At least not right away. I've been getting by the last couple days on fresh tomatoes, brie, grapes, apple slices and crackers. Not much else.
  • Mozza is by far the most expensive lunch I've ever had. And totally worth it.
