Dude, WTF?

I noticed that I say "dude" an alarming number of times in conversation. No plans to curb this odd new verbal habit of mine. I think it'll go away on its own eventually...

Last night I was flipping through the UHF channels, as I do from time to time, and I notice a ASANO TADANOBU (I LOVE HIM. Talented plus he's insanely hot*) samurai flick dubbed into Spanish! Dude! Seriously, WTF? Meanwhile on the major U.S. networks they are showing pure crap in its crappiest form; something not even worth namechecking. The Spanish-language networks are more likely to show intense violence so this isn't a huge stretch--Asano was murdering left and right with a sword and a cool head and blood was flying everywhere. That rules. It's actually another point in its favor on top of even screening an Asano movie. Unfortunately, it was mid-story and there was no way I could pick it up with my limited Spanish skill. Man. Not fair. Should have paid more attention in Spanish classes then I can follow these crazy-violent Japanese (and I've seen a few Chinese!) movies. Wait, what?

Sigh. I've been watching a million things on DVD, television, video, online. Messed up my leg again and the rainy/windy weather has been keeping me indoors anyway. Suggestions? I'll take them--use the comments form. Weird-creative things please.

* Probably best known for his role in Ichi the Killer. Has done quite a number of films playing disturbed characters. Fans of Japanese films and zombie films should enjoy this trailer for Tokyo Zombie. It's in Japanese, so if you don't understand, learn:

I've been suffering that Dude Effect, too. It's been about, I don't know, five weeks. I think it's sunspots.
