Not the best pics. To be honest, not the best pie! Went back to Pie Hole right before it closed last Saturday night and picked up this chicken pot pie on a whim. To be fair, I did not heat it in an oven or even a toaster oven. They said microwaving it would be fine, but I really doubt I would try that again.

I haven't been entirely turned off the savory pies however. I will return for their other offerings. In the meantime, if you head over, definitely try whatever the limited edition dessert pie is. Last I checked, it was still the Thai ice tea pie, but it was already on its way out to make room for whatever the next thing is.

If you have a strong hankering for chicken pot pie, and don't mind a drive, you could go all the way out to Noho for Republic of Pie. I can't explain the lack of consistency in the Yelp reviews and have never actually been to the place, but I have tried an assortment the last time I visited some friends in the Valley. The chicken pot pie was quite good when reheated properly in an oven. Best I've had in a long while. Boy, I miss Moffett's which served it up proper with mashed potatoes and good chicken gravy. This is enough to get me thinking about baking a pie. No success with them in the past. Crust is difficult. I don't go for these newfangled, lazy man's, flaky, pastry crust-topped pies. Give me a real pie crust! With a bottom! Suggestions?

I made the best chicken pot pie the other day - kinda copied from the one we had at Park Ave. in Stanton on Valentine's Day. It was sooo good, I think I ate half of it on my own ;x
