Sunday in the Foothills

A.M. hiking
morning hike with aipohaku
turned out to be a good challenge
5 miles, mostly uphill, painful at times, lot of fun
more on this in a future post

the manliest breakfast I've ever ordered
the server said women often order it and she herself is a fan
it is called the lumberjack
would not have ordered without the strenuous hike beforehand

Why not...
well hell, since we're in the area...
picked up a few of these strawberry donuts from the donutman for later eating
I ate one as soon as I got home
the bottom was still crispy so I didn't feel bad about that at all
letting them sit would have been a shame

banana strawberry muffins baked this evening
had half a pound of fresh strawberries and an overripe banana
those plus a few basics make a dozen muffins

No office tomorrow; closed for President's Day. I could use it to recover but I also feel like moving around. Maybe a smaller hike closer to home or just a walk through the local mall will do.

Oooh, what's in the lumberjack?

It was an omelette filled with sausage, bacon, cheese, mushrooms, hash browns, and smothered with chicken gravy. Served with choice of toast but I chose pancakes. It was as big and heavy as it sounds and I finished most of it in one sitting. Never again! I ate the donut too. Followed with a nap. Barely survived.
