Kit Kat Japan - otona no amasa
Time for a REVIEW! It's been awhile.
Mother Empirical recently returned from a trip to Japan with a supply of Japanese candy and snacks. Here's something she kicked my way.
"Otona no amasa" or "adult sweetness" Kit Kat is very subtle. Too subtle for me—I prefer the overly sweet American stuff. Yep, I did a side-by-side tasting. It's true, I grew up hearing the Japanese and Japanese American adults in my life complain that cakes, other baked goods and candy were "too sweet" or "too rich." I never understood this as a kid, but now I know, Japanese people like bland food. You wouldn't know it with all this umami-talk, but it's true.
- semi-sweet(?) chocolate
- light flavor
- cookie bits - like the non-creamy part of an Oreo - mixed into the wafer, creating a grainy sort of texture.
Conclusion: Not recommended.
Mother Empirical: "I like it."
