Cal Poly Pomona Farm Store at Kellogg Ranch.

I finally went to check it out over the weekend. Wow.

Wine, cheeses, fancy pastas. I thought it was going to be just a few produce stands but I was wrong. The Farm Store at Kellogg is fully air conditioned and a pretty amazing grocery store. There was also a good sized nursery outside with good deals and selection on ground cover and trees.

Yes, the market is smallish, but also featured enough fresh food, canned items, candy and gifts that reminded me of small shops I'd been to around Sonoma and Napa Counties. The vineyards in the hills nearby helped! They had "world's hottest" ghost peppers and pattypans, a variety of fresh tomatoes, all grown on campus ag department. I only walked away with a couple oro blancos and a thing of very expensive ice cream, a few photos and a mind set on returning asap.

Other highlights: stuff from Brougiere's Dairy, smoked bacon, a deli sandwich service and of course Cal Poly's own fresh squeezed orange juice.
