We tend to call this "the skybuckets" despite the fact that nothing about this ride resembles a bucket. It may just be what we, as SoCal children, called the similar ride at Disneyland during the 1980s called the Skyway.
This L.A. County Fair version's official name is "Skyride #2." What happened to Skyride #1? The original? Perhaps we shouldn't ask such questions. After all, tragedy marked the end of the Skyway at the Disney Resorts.
To summon the courage to board this ride requires a delicate balance of crazy, drunk, and sober. It seems little more than a simple park bench connected to a thin cable, operated by a couple guys they picked off an unemployment line three days ago. You need to be drunk (brave) enough to get on, but sober enough to not fall off. Freakouts are to be avoided. Do not attempt if you have any issues with heights.
Once afloat above the midway, enjoy the silence above the world. Meditate on the ethereal journey you are on. Consider your primal nature in the smoke from meat over fire. And check out that crazy obesity beneath your feet.

i couldn't do this. when i got older i got scared of heights, super weird, i know. the pictures are excellent though, loves 'em!
