Everyone has a film fest. Everyone.
Not to be confused with the "L.A. Film Fest" that I checked out (and wrote about) earlier this year, there is a "Downtown Film Fest Los Angeles." Despite the fact that many of the venues are within walking distance of my office, I'd never heard of this one. I just happened to walk by the venue hosting tonight's opening night "Gala" after work today.
Kind of been wanting to see Daisy Lin's doc, "Yours Truly, Miss Chinatown" and am pleased to see it on the lineup. Unfortunately, probably can't make it with such short notice. Other interesting films on there.
Maybe you want to check out their schedule? Here's the link. Closes Sunday (Sept. 12).
