Well, we've made it to November, kids. Now what?
Two project ideas...
Did you finish the October DVD Playlist (Halloween/Michael Myers Edition)? I see that Halloween II has returned the big screen for Halloween weekend so I'd like to get through that soon. Even if you guys haven't been able to catch that one, I'm ready to sign your approval slips so let's keep going! I thought the project went pretty smoothly and we finished in time with EIGHT TITLES so keep that in mind and I'm taking suggestions now for November Playlist. I have no ideas so far. We've got some British comedy series and more Rob Zombie taking up the top spots in queue, but no solid themes emerging yet. Pick a director or actor or series and put it in the comments. We'll figure something out this week!
Yes, we are busy with holiday season kicking into gear and visiting friends, but we should still load up our schedules. With what? NANOWRIMO. NAtional NOvel WRIting MOnth begins today. It's not too late to register HERE. Everyone is welcome to make an account and write a piece of fiction of 50,000 (or more) words this month. That comes out to 175 pages which is...let's see...about 1,666 words a day? You don't have to write every day. You don't have to show people what you've written if you are shy or a perfectionist or think someone wants to steal your ideas--the writing is done offline on your word processing program--registering is mainly to keep track of your word count progression. You don't have to pay for anything. At the end of the month, you can submit your creation to the site [directions for 'encrypting' your work are on the site if you're really paranoid] for word count verification. If you make the 50,000-word goal, you win. If not, no harm done. There's no prize other than a sense of accomplishment and a piece of work that you can continue to work on. You can sell it or self-publish or put it aside and never think about it again--that's all up to you.
Get crackin'!

do it dammit!
I'm thinking Friday the 13th for the next film project? I'm not done with the slashers. Tough to follow Halloween.
