I've been wearing Chucks since 7th grade and despite the decline in quality over the years and the foot problems I've suffered, I'll probably keep buying them.

I've never seen lacing like this, but I found these today on clearance:



I didn't buy them but they're kind of cool, no? I like that Converse keeps trying new ideas. I wish they'd try putting more arch support in there. A lot of people I know are putting inserts in theirs.
