Tapes.

After my last post about the untimely passing of Michael Jackson I was unable to listen to any of his music for a few days--at least not with any actual effort. There was no real way to avoid hearing MJ's music--news updates, radio stations, coworkers, in shops. I did listen to an online broadcast of a tribute show, briefly, but what I mean is it took me a few days for the news to really sink in, then to make the effort of digging through my old things to find the tapes. Cassettes!

So I went digging and found a dubbed copy of Dangerous someone made for me but the screws were rusted out. Found Thriller and Bad in perfect condition. I open Bad (favorite MJ album, remember?) and thought of the countless times I played the thing in a pink boombox when I was much younger. I thought it was cute when I discovered my own name scrawled in pink pen on the J-card. So girly.
