Looks Good. Too Bad I'm Not Going.

Eric Nakamura gave me the heads up on this...

Scion--yeah, the car people!--are hosting a mini-film festival. The event is called Easy Ten. This year they invited some media people to produce film shorts and Giant Robot was among them. Eric's (producer/2nd camera) film is called "The Dwelling" and I must say it looks pretty damn interesting. It's about homeless people in Tokyo, or more specifically, the resourceful/creative encampments that they build. Director is Sheldon Candis. Haven't had a chance to watch the intros to the other films but some of the names attached make it sound promising--Vice, XLR8R, Juxtapoz, etc. Eric is in good company and I believe he said it is free but you do have to rsvp for it through the website.

Act fast, Easy Ten is TOMORROW, 4 Feb, 830pm-midnight at the Landmark Theatre on Pico. I'm a little confused about why the artwork on the site says "2008" but trust me, it's tomorrow. Free!

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it. Work is murder this week and this is West L.A. My god that is far. If you go, please report back. Also, tell Eric, "Cari [or Inland Empirical] says hello." He'll be around and available for chitchat following the 950 and 1130 screenings of his film.

Have fun. Support the arts.
