Gearing up for the travels. I mentioned earlier that I went to Fry's. I don't like going and usually try to source everything I need [tech-wise] SOMEWHERE ELSE but I'm running out of time. I get turned around in there with the people, noise and towering aisles. And it's annoying to have to stop and ask someone every two minutes where something is.
You think that's big.
Chino Walmart. I haven't been in awhile. The parking situation at Spectrum keeps me away. This "big box" is enormous. Vast. I spent at least half an hour trying to find paper towels. I can't remember the last time I'd been to that Walmart, but since then, it barfed up an entire supermarket. Groceries and a full-service deli. When did they add all that acreage? And as it was at Fry's, I could not locate a single item on my list without assistance.
Where are the paper products?
OH, ONLY A 15 MINUTE WALK FROM WHERE YOU STAND
Eventually, I bought a lot of the things I need for my trip and a lot of things I don't.
Do you need a whistle?
No, but put it in the cart anyway. Never know.
My favorite of all my many purchases: Mini-Maglite. I've always wanted one. My cousin had one and I thought it was cool when I was a kid. What I didn't know until today is that they were introduced in the 1970s by immigrant-entrepreneur, Anthony Maglica who set up Mag Instrument, Inc. in our own Ontario, CA. Support the 909 tinkerers!

Mini-Maglites actually come in handy for when you drop stuff in dark places. Which you will be doing a lot during this trip if you're lucky
I never knew the mag light was a 909 invention! Impressive.
