Covering More Empire Ground...

Veteran's Day took me back to Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga. Bought a few things for some friends of mine and had lunch at King's Fish House. Tried the Jumbo Shrimp Po' Boy which was good and fresh. Would go back and try other entrees. The weather was nice and it wasn't too crowded because a lot of people still had to work that day. I love that the music all over this shopping center is jazz. They just play old standards. Definitely getting me into the spirit of spending--they were setting up the Christmas tree in the plaza by the Yardhouse and holiday decorations were up in stores. Yes. Already.

After a full day there, we swung by [Jim Nakano's] Donut Man again. That takes my donut shop count up to TWO for Veteran's Day weekend. They were out of the apple donuts, but the helpful girl behind the counter offered to make me one. "Just give me two minutes." It smelled so great. Fresh apples in a glazed donut neatly packed in a small cardboard box.

I've eaten so many donuts lately, which wouldn't be so bad, but when it makes up most of your diet, there are bound be consequences. Around Wednesday it hit me. Abdominal pains and what felt like a cold coming on. I'm back onto regular food. Well, if you count Baker's. I managed to get some salad in there somewhere, but still eating pretty badly overall. Sigh. Gettin' old. Need to work on improving my diet...Baby steps...
